Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo, Reece James And Other In Training Session Today

Enzo Fernandez alongside Moises Caicedo with Reece James and others were involved in training today at Cobham.

Chelsea heads into the international break with a three-game winning streak but recognizes the need for improvement before their Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Despite the Premier League season being relatively young, the second international break of the 2023/24 season is upon us, leading Chelsea's star players to represent their national teams in various competitions.

The challenge of signing talented players is that you must cope without them during these international breaks. Nevertheless, Mauricio Pochettino remains committed to enhancing his squad in the coming weeks.

While players deserve some rest, the Blues' head coach is determined to continue pushing his team towards improvement, especially with a challenging run of matches ahead, starting with Arsenal after the international break.

Pochettino revealed his plans to focus on training at Cobham, stating, "To enhance our players and aid injured players in their recovery over the next two weeks, we will be hard at work on the training ground.

Winning certainly lifts spirits and motivates us to keep pushing and working diligently to improve."

Pochettino will work closely with a group of players nearing their return from injury.

Carney Chukwuemeka, who was close to a return against Fulham, made his way back into the matchday squad against Burnley, offering an opportunity to showcase his fitness and skills with many of his competitors away on international duty.

Similarly, Reece James returned from injury before the Burnley match but was suspended due to inappropriate behavior towards a match official.

He will be available for the Arsenal match later in the month and has two weeks to regain full match fitness.

Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah have been in partial training and now have a chance to work alongside experienced defenders like Thiago Silva, Marc Cucurella, and Robert Sanchez in Chelsea's defense.

Although they haven't featured yet this season, they can both learn and impress during this time, as Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill are on international duty.

Disasi earned his call-up on Monday to replace the injured Jules Kounde, and Malo Gusto was also elevated from the under-21 side to join the senior French squad.

Four members of Chelsea's starting lineup against Burnley are available for training.

Raheem Sterling, who responded impressively to not being called up by Gareth Southgate, joins Sanchez, Cucurella, and Silva.

Youngsters like Deivid Washington, Alfie Gilchrist, and Alex Matos, who recently made his Chelsea debut against Fulham, can also contribute to training, given that many of Chelsea's academy players are on international duty.

Pochettino will also have the opportunity to spend time with Chelsea's injured players, although some won't be on the training pitch as they continue their rehabilitation programs.

Pochettino has confirmed that Romeo Lavia will not return after the international break, and the situation is similar for long-term absentees such as Marcus Bettinelli, Ben Chilwell, Christopher Nkunku, and Wesley Fofana.
